Long before sophisticated electronic navigational equipment, the ship's navigator used to read the stars in the sky during the night. Doing this, he could see how far off course the ship had gone and was able to make the necessary adjustments. This was done every night because no matter how carefully the helmsman and crew followed their orders, the ship would always drift off course. It was the navigator whom everyone depended on. While they slept or performed other duties the navigator had but one duty; to read the stars, plot a true course and deliver everyone to their desired destination. Needless to say, the success of the expedition depended on the skills of the navigator chosen. The challenge for those looking to adopt internationally is the same. They need the right navigator.
